Our BC wines are hand made with loving care from Morning Bay's terraced vineyard and winery on North Pender Island in the sparkling southern Gulf Islands of BC. In the lee of the Olympic Peninsula rainshadow, Pender basks in a glorious mediterranean summer, with long stretches of dry, sunny weather.

Construction of the vineyard began in 2001, and five years after planting, in the fall of 2006, Morning Bay harvested its first releases grown entirely on Pender Island: a Pinot Gris, a Shonberger-based blend, a Gewurztraminer-Riesling blend, and a pinot noir-based Rose called Chiaretto. After building a mile of terrace, a mile of deer-fence, a million-gallon pond, and five miles of trellis, 5000 grapevines began to make Pender Island their home.

Consumers and critics and alike have praised the wines' light, fresh character, and we have won numerous awards since then.
