Our Canadian wines are hand made on the sparkling southern Gulf Islands of BC with loving care from Morning Bay's terraced vineyard and winery on North Pender Island. Pender basks in a glorious mediterranean summer, in the lee of the Olympic Peninsula rainshadow, with long periods of dry, sunny weather.

You'll be getting a superior hand made Canadian wine product with your wine purchase. Produced with careful applications of water and nutrients, our wine grapes ripen slowly and develop complex flavours that will delight any wine lovers palate. The grapes are hand-picked in late fall and retain crisp aromatics with elegant flavours.

After building a mile of terrace, five miles of trellis, a mile of deer fence, a million-gallon pond, 5000 grapevines began to flourish and lay the foundation for the vineyard operation in 2001.

In the fall of 2006, five years after planting, Morning Bay harvested its first Pender Island releases: a Pinot Gris, a a Gewurztraminer-Riesling blend, Shonberger-based blend, and a pinot noir-based Rose called Chiaretto. We have won numerous awards since then, and consumers and critics alike have praised the wines' light, fresh character.
